Edenvale Day, which took place on 14 March 2009, was an opportunity for Edenvale and surrounding businesses to promote their products and services to families who came along with their children and enjoy a fun filled, family day of activities and professional live entertainment.

The 2009 Edenvale Day enjoyed top South African entertainers such as Dr Victor & the Rasta Rebels, Thabo Mdluli, Garth Taylor, Emmanuel Castis, Melanie Lowe, and local bands Hullabaloo and Chix with Stix. A professional stage with state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment ensured a memorable performance. Visit the gallery to see photos of the entertainers on the day!

A kids play area with jumping castles kept the little ones entertained, while local entrepreneurs worked hard at their stalls. There was a food court with a wide selection of meals and snacks, a formal exhibitor hall with 24 local businesses displaying exciting specials and promotions, plus a Flea Market showing the crafts and wares of Edenvale entrepreneurs. It was a great day out for everyone - with all profits going to two worthwhile Edenvale charities!

A big thank you to Ekurhuleni municipality for their generous donation, to the businesses who took part in the event, and to the Edenvale Day organisers who volunteered thousands of hours to co-ordinate the day. Our thanks also to Melanie Lowe and our other entertainers who performed either free or at a reduced rate and who helped us publicise the event on radio.

The day was publicised in the local newspaper, as well as on on 3 local radio stations, with over 5 000 leaflets and 2000 poster distributed in the area. Visit the Gallery to hear our radio interviews with Highveld and East Rand Radio!

Although poor weather in 2009 resulted in lower visitor numbers than hoped for, those who did enthusiastically enjoyed the entertainment on offer.
